Overview
TL;DR: Moodesk does not watch what you do, track app usage, or collect analytics. Your rules and settings stay on your Mac. The only thing Moodesk can send automatically is a crash report, and you can turn that off in general settings; when it is off, no crash reports are sent. Moodesk talks to Actondon's server only for trials, the one-time purchase, purchase recovery, license activation, and software updates.
Moodesk is a macOS menu bar app from Actondon that helps you apply different system behaviors to different macOS Desktops.
Moodesk is designed so your Desktop rules and automation settings stay on your Mac during normal app use. The app does not require an Actondon account, does not provide cloud sync, and does not collect product analytics or usage tracking.
This policy explains what information Moodesk handles, what is sent to Actondon when you use purchase or licensing features, and what third-party services may process data for Moodesk.
App Data and Settings
Moodesk handles the settings you create in the app, such as Desktop rules, automation choices, scripts, Shortcuts settings, environment values, and app preferences.
Your Desktop rules, scripts, Shortcuts settings, environment variables, and other app preferences are not sent to Actondon as part of normal app use.
Diagnostics Logs
Moodesk keeps diagnostic information in local file system to help troubleshoot. Diagnostics can include timestamps, categories, status messages, error messages, and limited context about what Moodesk was doing.
Moodesk does not automatically upload diagnostics to Actondon. If you export diagnostics or send them to Actondon for support, Actondon will receive and use the information you choose to share.
macOS Permissions
Moodesk may ask for macOS Accessibility and Automation permissions so it can observe Desktop changes and ask System Events to apply Desktop-related settings. These permissions are granted through macOS system controls.
Moodesk uses these permissions to operate the app's automation features. Granting these permissions does not give Actondon remote access to your Mac.
Crash Reports
Moodesk may use Sentry for crash reporting. Crash reporting is controlled by an in-app setting under Advanced settings. You can turn this setting off.
When crash reporting is enabled, Moodesk may send technical information needed to diagnose crashes, such as app version, operating-system information, crash details, and general app state at the time of the crash.
Crash reporting is configured to limit the information sent and is not used for product analytics, session tracking, or behavioral tracking.
Crash reports are not intended to include the content of your Desktop rules, scripts, commands, custom environment values, or diagnostics logs.
If crash reporting is disabled, Moodesk does not send crash reports through Sentry from that app installation.
Trials, Purchases, and Licensing
If you start a trial, begin checkout, complete a purchase, recover a purchase, or activate a license key, Moodesk communicates with Actondon's licensing service.
Actondon stores the information needed to provide trials, purchases, license access, purchase recovery, refunds, chargeback handling, fraud and abuse prevention, support, and service operation. This can include your purchase email address, payment processor identifiers, license status, purchase status, and related support or operational records.
Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored inside the Moodesk app. Actondon does not need your Desktop rules, scripts, Moodesk configuration, or personal files to process purchases or licensing.
When a purchase is fulfilled, Actondon may send license-related emails to the purchaser email address provided during checkout. Actondon currently uses Brevo for transactional email delivery.
Software Updates
Moodesk may check Actondon's update feed to offer newer versions of the app. Update checks are used to deliver software updates, not to build product analytics profiles.
Cookies and Tracking
The Moodesk macOS app does not use cookies or similar browser tracking technologies.
The Moodesk app page and privacy policy are part of the Actondon website. Website requests may involve ordinary server-side request handling by the website host, but the Moodesk app itself does not use website cookies for app analytics or behavioral tracking.
Accounts and Cloud Sync
Moodesk does not have an Actondon account system and does not provide cloud sync. Actondon does not receive your Moodesk configuration through the app unless you choose to email the exported settings or diagnostics for support.
Data Sharing
Actondon does not sell Moodesk user data.
Actondon shares data only as needed to operate Moodesk and provide related services, including with:
- Stripe for checkout, payment processing, refunds, chargebacks, and payment records.
- Brevo for transactional email delivery.
- Sentry for crash reporting when crash reporting is enabled.
- Infrastructure providers that host and operate the Actondon website and related services.
- Legal, security, or compliance recipients if required to protect users, Actondon, or comply with law.
Retention
Moodesk configuration and diagnostics kept by the app remain on your Mac until you delete them or reset the app.
Actondon keeps licensing, purchase, email delivery, support, and operational records for as long as needed to provide the license, recover purchases, provide support, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and operate the service.
Crash reports are kept for as long as needed to diagnose and fix crashes, subject to the retention settings of the crash reporting service.
Your Choices
You can:
- Use Moodesk without creating an Actondon account.
- Turn crash reporting off in Moodesk's Advanced settings.
- Contact Actondon to ask about licensing or purchase data associated with your purchase email address or license.
Children
Moodesk is not directed to children, and Actondon does not knowingly collect personal information from children through Moodesk.
Changes to This Policy
Actondon may update this policy when Moodesk changes or when legal, operational, or security requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last updated.
